TBI6. Licox Management Algorithm



Goal: PbtO2 is >20
If the PbtO2 is < 20, then confirm the probe is working:
                  Increase the FiO2 to 100%.  If the PbtO2 increases, then the probe is working
                                    If the PbtO2 does not increase, then NS may discontinue or replace the probe
If the probe is working, increase PbtO2 by doing the following:
1.     Increase FiO2 as tolerated with possible chest trauma
2.     Increase SBP / MAP by any means necessary, preferably inotropes then vasopressors
3.     If all others maxed, may consider allowing increase in PCO2 by decreasing the RR

4.     May consider transfusion of packed red blood cells
