Endoscopy Equipment Request Instructions for Bedside Cases

STEP 1: Please call 859-323-6409 to initiate equipment request with the Endo coordinator.

STEP 2: Are you requesting scope only?

YES:

Please call 859-323-7234 to obtain a scope directly from the CS scope supervisor.

NO:

Proceed to Step #3 to obtain tower, scope, or additional equipment.

STEP 3: Is the case emergent?

YES:

1.     Requesting service will post case with the Endo coordinator.

2.     The Endo coordinator will confirm if Endo staff can assist immediately. If so, the Endo staff member will obtain equipment and proceed to the remote case, meeting requesting service at the bedside.

3.     If an Endo staff member cannot assist immediately, the requesting service will come to Endo and obtain equipment via the Endo coordinator.

4.     As soon as an Endo staff member becomes available, they will go to the bedside to assist with the case and bring back equipment.

5.     In the event the case is completed before the Endo staff member was able to be present, the requesting service MUST return all equipment to the Endo coordinator as soon as the bedside case concludes.

 

NO:

1.     Requesting service will post case with Endo coordinator and both agree on a time for Endo staff to accompany.
